IP Address Lookup

Find out which country and city an IP address or website is in, and which internet provider and network (ASN) it belongs to.

What Can an IP Lookup Tell You?

  • Country, region and approximate location: where the IP address is registered, shown on a map.
  • Internet service provider (ISP): the carrier, hosting company or organization the address belongs to.
  • ASN and IP range: the autonomous system number of the network and the address block it belongs to.
  • Hostname: the reverse DNS (PTR) record, a descriptive name for servers and some home connections.
  • Connection type: residential or business ISP, mobile network, data center (possible VPN or proxy) or Tor exit node.

Tip: you can also look up any IP address by typing ipadresimne.net/en/8.8.8.8 straight into your browser's address bar.

How to Find the IP Address of a Website

Type the domain name (e.g. google.com) or paste a full URL (https://www.example.com/page) into the search box. We resolve the domain's DNS records, list its IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and show details for the first address. For sites behind a content delivery network (CDN) such as Cloudflare, you'll see the CDN's IP address rather than the origin server's.

You can also find a website's IP address from the command line with nslookup example.com or ping example.com.

Who Owns an IP Address?

An IP lookup shows which organization (an internet provider, hosting company or business) an address is allocated to; it does not reveal the person using it at that moment. Only the internet provider can link an IP address and a timestamp to a subscriber, and in most countries it discloses this only in response to a legal request. If you've been the victim of fraud or harassment, write down the IP address together with the exact date and time and report it to the police or your local cybercrime unit.

How Accurate Are the Results?

Country and provider data is highly accurate. City data is usually correct but should be treated as approximate; coordinates point to the center of an area, not a street address. Location data comes from the DB-IP database and is updated every month.

API for Developers

Get lookup results as JSON from ipadresimne.net/en/api/8.8.8.8, or with a domain name, ipadresimne.net/en/api/google.com. For details about your own IP use ipadresimne.net/en/json, or ipadresimne.net/ip for the IP address only. To prevent abuse, lookups are limited to 30 requests per minute per IP.

IP Lookup FAQ

Can an IP lookup identify a person?

What is an ASN?

An ASN (Autonomous System Number) is a unique number assigned to a network with its own routing policy on the internet. For example, Google uses AS15169 and Cloudflare uses AS13335. The ASN tells you which network an IP address belongs to.
